The L'ormarins Queen's Plate not only kicks off Cape Town's social season, but is also the best way a socialite can start the new year.
The L'ormarins Queen's Plate (LQP) is the first prestigious equestrian event of the year, held at Kenilworth Racecourse. It is usually scheduled for the second Saturday of the month of January annually. It is rated as one of the world’s top five horse racing events by The Telegraph in Britain. It is internationally recognised as one of the most established equestrian to-dos on the globe’s calendar. It is definitely NOT TO BE MISSED.
The LQP is an ELITE affair. It has the perfect blend of equestrian elites, high fashion, and of course South African celebrities. If you are ever in Cape Town and wish to attend the LQP, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you purchase the LQP STUD CLUB tickets. The Stud Club is the VIP access of the LQP so the tickets do not come cheap. But, it is the perfect marquee for celeb spotting (which is my favourite past time at these events).
The best part of attending this prestigious event is of course THE FASHION! This haute couture event requires attendees to put their best fashion foot forward as well – no jeans, shorts or fancy dress is permitted. The dress code is ALWAYS strictly white and blue, and fashion scouts will search the crowds for ladies and gents who exude TIMELESS ELEGANCE in their outfits.
I was so blessed to attend the LQP earlier this year (VIP STUD CLUB access of course, it is the ONLY way to attend an event). Here are some of my favourite highlights from the 2015 event:
Me, all dressed in blue and white :)
LQP
The VIP STUD CLUB! The ONLY access you want at the LQP.
CELEB SPOTTED!! Met the GORGEOUS model and surfer ROXY LOUW! She is SUPER NICE!
CELEB SPOTTED! Also met the former Miss South Africa-CINDY NELL. She is absolutely GORGEOUS.
And I saw one of my FAVOURITE SOUTH AFRICAN CELEBS (AGAIN) - BONANG MATHEBA :)

So if you are ever in Cape Town in January, make sure you get the hottest ticket in town-LQP!
Until next time my lovies.
