FRENCH COUNTRYSIDE CHIC IN JOHANNESBURG SOUTH AFRICA

When I think of the city of Johannesburg I always think "CONCRETE JUNGLE", and I hardly ever associate the city with picturesque views, trees, rivers or lakes and rolling hills. So when I was tasked with the exciting and all too important responsibility of planning one of my best friend's BRIDAL SHOWER, I thought the biggest hurdle I would have to overcome is finding the venue.

 

Now I already had the bridal shower theme in mind: "FRENCH COUNTRYSIDE CHIC WITH A TOUCH OF CHANEL", however I was uncertain as to whether I'd be able to find a venue which would be a perfect fit with the theme in Johannesburg. However, I was proven wrong.

 

THE RIVER HOUSE HOTEL & RESTAURANT, RUIMSIG

 

One of my other best friends recommended "THE RIVER HOUSE HOTEL & RESTAURANT(previously known as RAMKIETJIE)" situated in Ruimsig (near Roodepoort). I have to admit, when I first went to view the venue in July I was blown away. The hotel is MAGNIFICENT! It really reminds one of the French Countryside. THATCHED ROOF BUILDINGS, LUSH GREENERY, PRIVATE DECK WITH VIEWS OF THE LAKE...I couldn't have asked for a better venue. THE HOTEL STAFF TRULY WERE AMAZING! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE HOTEL! And the bride-to-be truly had a fabulous time!

THE PATISSERIE, ROSEBANK

Whilst in Johannesburg in July, I discovered a little bakery called THE PATISSERIE in ROSEBANK. The lady who manages the patisserie, MARION, was absolutely WONDERFUL! I gave her the vision I had for the cake and cupcakes I wanted for my friend's bridal shower, and SHE RAN WITH IT! MARION ABSOLUTELY OUTDID HERSELF! I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HER!
