HELLO BLOGGETTES!!!
I know it has been awhile since I last posted on my blog, but as Term 1 nears to an end my studies have been keeping me very busy.
However as promised I am continuing with the DEETS on my BARCELONA , SPAIN adventure!
PARC GUELL
Park Guell is a PUBLIC PARK located on CARMEL HILL in Barcelona, Spain. Carmel Hill belongs to the mountain range of COLLSEROLA (also known as SERRA DE COLLSEROLA - which is part of the CATALAN COASTAL RANGE).
Park Guell is located in LA SALUT, a neighbourhood in the GRACIA DISTRICT of Barcelona. EUSEBI GUELL assigned the design of the park to ANTONI GAUDI, a renowned architect known for CATALAN MODERNISM (read more on Gaudi in my previous posts). The park was built between 1900 and 1914. It was officially opened as a public park in 1926, and in 1984 UNESCO declared the park a WORLD HERITAGE SITE under "WORKS OF ANTONI GAUDI".
Park Guell is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, from the GAUDI HOUSE MUSEUM, to GAUDI'S MULTICOLOURED MOSAIC SALAMANDER (commonly referred to as 'EL DRAC' or THE DRAGON ), to Gaudi's mosaic work on the main TERRACE.
Here are some of my favourite highlights from my visit to the Park Guell:
There you have it bloggettes! My final upcoming posts on my Barcelona adventure include MONTSERRATT and BARCELONA BEACH.
Until next time.
