HELLO BLOGETTES!!
As I mentioned in my previous post I was in VENICE for the weekend, specifically for the VENICE CARNIVAL! The Venice Carnival has been in my bucket list of "Things to do in my Lifetime" and so I am very grateful to God for making it happen!!
VENICE CARNIVAL
The CARNIVAL OF VENICE (as it is so known) is an annual festival held in Venice, Italy. The Carnival kicks off with a grand opening and ends with the Christian celebration of Lent, the day before Ash Wednesday.
The Carnival runs for approximately two weeks, and is jam-packed with gondola parades, masked balls, gala dinners and dances. During the Carnival season, be prepared to see people dressed in elaborate costumes ranging from ELVIS PRESLEY, ARISTROCRATS, ROYALTY etc. The canals also come alive during the colourful GONDOLA PARADE! We were blessed to have been in Venice in time for the GRAND OPENING OF THE CARNIVAL at RIO CANNAREGIO.
Here are some of my favourite highlights from the Carnival:
