Yes, you read right!! I attended the VIENNA OPERA BALL 2016 in February which is held annually in VIENNAAUSTRIA and it was an experience I will truly never forget. It was my very own CINDERELLA MOMENT MINUS PRINCE CHARMING of course :) Lol
VIENNA OPERA BALL
The Vienna Opera Ball is THE BIGGEST EVENT OF AUSTRIA'S (and Europe's as a whole) SOCIETY EVENTS. It is the EPITOME OF HIGH SOCIETY!!
The Opera Ball is the most EXCLUSIVE event in the VIENNESE SOCIAL CALENDAR and every year, Europe's society men and women descend upon the WIENER STAATSOPER to rub shoulders with SOME of EUROPE'S ARISTROCRATS, LOCAL and INTERNATIONALCELEBRITIES alike!! Obtaining tickets to the event is no easy task. One must make a formalwrittenrequest/application to purchase/reserve tickets and just because you have made a request there is no guarantee that such request will be approved.
The Dress Code for the Opera Ball is very strict: women are required to wear a floor length ball gown and the gentlemen are required to wear a black tail coat with a bow tie. Jewelry can be worn as much as the heart desires! Should guests wish to wear watches, the women can only wear dress watches and gentlemen pocket watches.
The highlight of the Opera Ball is of course the DEBUTANTES who take to the dance floor to dance the waltz with their dance partners. Over a hundred young couples aged between 17 and 24 who have made their debut in Viennese high society open the ball of balls. The debutantes are the only guests allowed to wear white ball gowns.
Attending the Vienna Opera Ball was truly a Cinderella Moment. It is the kind of event most girls only dream of - opulent ballroom, high society, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, a performance by the Vienna State Opera ballet, debutantes in breath taking white, floor length ball gowns, white long gloves and beautiful tiaras made of Swarovski crystals. Yet here I was, an oridnary Zulu girl from South Africa, rubbing shoulders with EUROPE'S ELITE!! THAT IS GOD'S FAVOUR!!
I have ALWAYS DREAMED of attending the VIENNA OPERA BALL. It was very high up on my BUCKET/PRAYER LIST and I am in AWE at GOD'S FAVOUR, LOVE & MERCY over my life and HE MADE IT HAPPEN!! God is forever FAITHFUL & He truly took Psalm 37: 4 "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart" to A WHOLE NEW LEVEL!!
