MY VIENNA (AUSTRIA) ADVENTURE 2016

HELLO BLOGGETTES!!

I know I haven't blogged in over a month!!! But...with exam season things have been really busy!! You know how it goes...and to think I am doing this for the 3rd time (this is my 3rd degree), talk about being a sucker for punishment - lol. Just kidding :) You all know I am the biggest advocate for education and bettering oneself!! NO SHAME IN MY NERD GAME (as I always say)!! I am definitely what you would term a CHIC NERD!! I make GEEK LOOK CHIC!

If you have read my previous post, you will know that I had the blessed opportunity of attending the VIENNA OPERA BALL 2016 in February this year (see blog post here ). Well, after the excitement of the ball, my friend and I had spent a few days touring Vienna and so I have decided to share some of my FAVOURITE VIENNA MOMENTS!!

VIENNA, AUSTRIA

Vienna is the capital and the largest city of Austria. The city is rich in historic architecture including Baroque castles and gardens, grand buildings, monuments and parks. One thing I definitely noticed about Vienna was the fact that the CITY IS SO CLEAN!!! SUPER CLEAN!! And interestingly enough Vienna was classified as the most prosperous city in the world in 2012/2013 (by UN-Habitat).

Vienna is known for a tradition of art and culture, including opera, theatre, classical music and fine art. It is home to a number OPERA HOUSES, including WIENER STAATSOPER (where the Vienna Opera Ball is held annually).

The best part of my Austrian adventure (apart from the Vienna Opera Ball experience of course), was VISITING ALL THE PALACES!! I toured the BELVEDERE PALACE (which includes two Baroque palaces and a museum of Austrian art) and the SCHONBRUNN PALACE. Vienna is also rich in MUSEUMS and I had the opportunity to visit the ALBERTINA MUSEUM (which features prints and drawings, graphic works, photographs and arhictectural drawings - including that of PICASSO).
